My routine this month consisted of volunteering two days a week at the elementary school down the block and going to choir practice once a week to prepare to sing with the choir on Sunday mornings. I visited our friend, Ken Sosville, in the hospital several times as he battles cancer and, numerous other problems, joining his wife, Jackie, for lunch on those days to give her a little break from her constant care of him. (Ken and Jackie visited with us at Compass Cay several times.) The first week of January, I saw friends, Steve and Joy Fredrick, just a few days before they returned to Antiqua and their boat Ocean Angel for another six months of island hopping. I went out to the house under construction at least once a week and saw much progress. I had an annual checkup with my cardiologist who said he’d see me next year and a trip to Ocala to see Dad continuing on to Ormond Beach to see Rick’s brother, Edward; stopping in Claremont on the way home to visit with college friends, Susan and David Lathbury. I also had an opportunity to join friends, Bill and Ruth Baker for supper for the first time this year which gave us a nice chance to “catch up.”
