Normal activities this month included: volunteering; choir practices, church and Sunday school as well as visits from Home Healthcare professionals with Dad and watching FSU play football on tv on Saturdays.

Special Occasions celebrated:  Vanessa’s 20th birthday on the 2nd and JP’s 39th birthday on the 14th and Thanksgiving on the 22nd.

On Wednesday, 11/7, I had lunch with a group of retired Manatee County Government Information Services Department and a short visit with Ken and Jackie.

On Friday, 11/9, I took Dad for his initial appointment with a local family practicioner just to establish himself as a patient.  Then, we joined Ken and Jackie at the Bradenton Yacht Club for an early supper.

Sunday, 11/11 – While the holiday was celebrated on Monday, the veterans were honored in church services today.  A great big thanks for all who served or are serving.  My father, uncle and husband all served in the Navy.

On Friday, 11/16, Dad and I attended a senior supper at church in the evening.

The neighborhood in which we live is called Twin Rivers.  There are many areas of preserve interspersed throughout and; therefore, lots of “wildlife” to be seen.  As I was driving home from the store on the morning of 11/17, I saw the sand hill cranes pictured below.

Over the years, Dad has taken friends and family on hundreds of “woods rides” in the Ocala Forest, JP and Emma took Dad and I on a “woods ride” along a trail down by the Manatee River.

Erectile dysfunction can be grouped under cialis price visit address now such condition, where the male sexual organ or penis fails to enlarge on stimulation.
On Sunday, 11/18 – Emma went to church and Sunday school with Dad and me as Vanessa was working at her new job at the Shake Station in Ellenton (She started yesterday).

On, Monday, 11/19, Dad had his last physical therapy session.  The therapist made sure that Dad could do all of the exercises on his own before he took him out for a walk.

On Tuesday, 11/20, Dad had his last occupational therapy session while I went for a 3-month follow-up with my doctor.  We spent the afternoon preparing to go to Ormond Beach for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Dad and I drove to Ormond Beach on Wednesday, 11/21, to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with my brother-in-law, Edward Hoffmeister.    Before going to Edward’s, we drove by the home we used to live in on Standish Drive when I was in school.

Thanksgiviving day, 11/22, would have been Rick’s (my husband) 69th birthday.  I miss him every day, but was glad to be with his brother and very thankful for the 45 years Rick and I had together.  Of course, my turkey wasn’t completely thawed when I was ready to start my prep, but it didn’t take too long to get “there”.  I had anticipated eating at 2:00, but we actually ate at  3:30.  Before leaving Ormond to return home to Parrish on Friday, 11/23, Dad talked with one of his old friends, Bob Wimmer and his wife Kathy and then had an opportunity to visit with another friend, Tim Langford.  We made plans to see Tim again in March for the Alligator Enduro motorcycle race.

Saturday, 11/24 – We watched the FSU vs Gator game in the afternoon which, unfortunately but not unexpectedly, we lost.  My daughter-in-law, Kellie, has been visiting her sister in Jacksonville and JP has to leave very early in the morning to run a marathon, so Emma spent the night with me.

Thursday, 11/29 – I had a yearly exam, then Dad had a visit from the home healthcare nurse.  She says he is doing well.  Rick’s Aunt Tillie called to say they would be in town in the afternoon and would like to stop by for a visit.  My brother, Rick, called to say that he had made arrangments for the pump at Dad’s place in the Ocala forest to be repaired and I should be getting a call from the fellow letting me know where to send the check.  We had a nice visit with Tillie and Jimmy in the afternoon and look forward to them moving from their long-time home of Andros Island in the Bahamas to the Twin Dolphins Marina in Bradenton next year.
