Regular activities this month included:
- After Sunday school and church, drive to Tampa to stay with recovering stem cell transplant friend Sunday night and Monday night returning home Tuesday afternoon.
- On Wednesday, I have lunch with granddaughter, Vanessa, before we go to the North River Care Pregnancy Center for a few hours of volunteer work. In the evening, I attend choir practice.
- Every other Thursday, I drive to Ocala to visit with Dad; take him to doctor’s appointments; and/or go out to the forest to check on things at his cabin.
- Friday and Saturday are left open for me to get things done around the house or schedule appointments. (I spent two Saturdays working with others on clean-up projects at the church.)
This month, there were several birthdays:
- My friends, Bill Baker and Deborah Ross celebrated their birthdays on August 3rd. I had lunch with Bill and Ruth that day.
- My brother Rick’s grandson, Mike turned 20 on the 8th.
- My brother Bill’s wife, Mary, celebrated a significant birthday and retired on August 13th.
- Their son, Tim and his wife Connie, welcomed a daughter, Louisa, on her grandmother’s birthday.
- My granddaughter, Emma Grace, turned 5 on August 31.

Out of the ordinary this month:
- I stopped to visit with an old friend on the way back from Ocala one Thursday.
- I joined JP and Emma at her Kindergarten orientation. (School started on 8/13)
- I saw two different doctors.
- I spent one day in the church office inputting weekly contributions into their computer system.
