Our routine activities include:

  • Dad, Emma and I attending Sunday school and church on Sunday mornings.
  • Me volunteering most Tuesdays at the North River Care Pregnancy Center and in the Palm View First Baptist Church office doing data input.
  • Me attending church and choir practice on Wednesday evenings.
  • Dad, Emma and I going for a walk after school on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
  • Emma and I exercising in the pool and hot tub on Saturday mornings.

On Monday 5/3, I made our flight reservations with Maker’s Air to fly from Ft. Lauderdale to Staniel Cay on July 23.  This year’s trip will include me, J.P. and Kellie with Emma and also my niece, the Reverend Melissa Frantz.   While we are gone, Melissa’s father, my brother, Rick, will stay here with our Dad.

Sunday 5/9, was Mothers’ Day – Happy Mother’s Day to all

During Sunday school, Emma’s class made candy roses to give to their Moms and in church, the children gave a real rose to every woman in attendance.  The pastor said he thinks every lady there had “mothered someone, sometime” so we all deserved flowers.  On the way home from church, Dad and Emma and I stopped by the cemetery to put some spring flowers at Rick’s marker.  (Emma calls it Papi’s rock.)

When we got home, I found a beautiful bouquet of roses and lilies on my table with a lovely card from my son, JP, who thanked me for being an awesome Mom.  It was a very good day.

Men often measure their self-worth by their ability in becoming a perceived able caretaker, heroes generic levitra online http://pamelaannschoolofdance.com/aid-7577 usually bond with other individuals which need to be looked after.

Friday 5/14 – I added a new activity to my routine.  I went to the church to help with recordkeeping for the weekly food bank.  We gave out more than 60 boxes of food within the two-hour drive thru.  I joined Julie Cole for supper at Costas in Palmetto afterward.  I plan to do this most every Friday afternoon.

Starting Monday, 5/17, I volunteered at the pregnancy center for special project through Thursday morning.

Friday, 5/21, was not a very good evening.  I received a text from my friend, Ruth Baker, telling me that her husband (one of Rick’s good friends) passed away this morning.  Then I got a text from JP telling me he was coming home from the emergency room with some cracked ribs.  He was playing catch with Emma and another child and jumped up after a high ball.  He came down wrong and fell over onto the sliding board.

Monday, 5/24 – This afternoon, I met Jackie Sosville and we went to visit with Ruth while Jackie’s sister, Ann, sat with their mother.  We were happy to see our friend, Debrorah Ross, also pulling in when we got there.  She lost her husband this past year as did Jackie and Ruth.  Deborah is, also a past-commodore of the Bradenton Yacht Club, as was Bill.  We went out on Ruth’s back porch over-looking the Manatee River and enjoyed a few beers and glasses of wine while we remembered the many times that we had enjoyed together with our husbands.  Deborah will be hosting a memorial service for all of the families at the yacht club that have lost loved ones in the last two years on Saturday, June 5th.  Since Jackie will be in Georgia until September, I volunteered to represent her in the service dropping a rose into the cut in Ken’s memory.

Tuesday, 5/25 – When I got home, after 5:00 p.m., it was 80 degrees in the house.  So, on Wednesday, the air conditioning repairman replaced a capacitor and the house was cool again by the time I left for church and choir practice.

Thursday, 5/27 – Dad hasn’t been feeling “up to par” most of the week, so he opted out of attending the monthly “Senior Saints” dinner meeting at church.

Monday, 5/31, was the Memorial Day Holiday.  Dad still wasn’t feeling good, so we stayed home.
